A Design Sprint is a 3-5 day innovation workshop that compresses months of work into a single week. Originally developed by Google Ventures, the format is ideal when a team faces a complex challenge, needs alignment, or wants to test an idea fast—with minimal risk and maximum clarity. Unlike open-ended Design Thinking, the Design Sprint follows a strict structure with clear daily goals, combining analytical depth and creative thinking. Especially in technical and complex environments, it enables focused decision-making by integrating internal expertise and early user validation.
We work in a tightly time-boxed (3–5 day) sprint, rapidly validating one key challenge under high decision pressure, guided throughout by our deep internal expertise.
We engage in open-ended, iterative exploration and co-creation, providing space for divergence and ideation, and emphasizing external user research.
Day 1: Understand & Define
The team maps the challenge, aligns on goals, and gathers expert input. The user journey is visualized, and critical questions are identified.
Methods: Expert Interviews, “How Might We”, Journey Mapping, Long-Term Goal
Day 2: Sketch
Each team member generates individual solution ideas based on structured creative methods. Inspiration from existing solutions is integrated to spark new thinking.
Methods: Lightning Demos, Crazy 8s, Concept Sketching
Day 3: Decide & Storyboard
Together, the team reviews all ideas and selects one solution path to move forward. The concept is translated into a detailed storyboard that guides the prototyping phase.
Methods: Dot Voting, Decision Matrix, Storyboarding
Day 4: Prototype
A realistic prototype is built to simulate the key elements of the solution. The goal is to create something believable enough to test with users the next day.
Methods: Rapid Prototyping Tools, Role Play, Interface Design
Day 5: Test
Five real users interact with the prototype in structured interviews. The team observes reactions, gathers feedback, and identifies patterns that reveal strengths and weaknesses of the solution.
Methods: User Interviews, Usability Testing, Insight Synthesis
(Optional) Day 6: Reflect & Plan
Insights are turned into concrete next steps, responsibilities are defined, and a strategy for iteration or implementation is developed.
